Defibrillator awareness training

Public Access Defibrillators are now operational in Congerstone, Barton in the Beans, Bilstone and Shackerstone. The equipment is there for anyone to use on someone in cardiac arrest. After a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and defibrillation reduces someone's chance of survival by 10 per cent. Hence in rural locations such as Shackerstone Parish having a Public Access Defibrillator can save vital minutes whilst waiting for an ambulance.

The parish council have arranged for a free 'awareness training' session for residents to show local people how to use the equipment and what to do in an emergency. Training will take place at 7.00 PM on the 16th April in Shackerstone Village Hall and on the 30th April in Congerstone Village Hall. If you would like to attend the training please contact the clerk on 07827 785836 or email
